Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

I think I might have figured it out. I took the reading off of pins 1 and 3 on the FTDI connector as you suggested and it was the expected 3.3 V, so my 3.3 V supply regulator is still good. However, in order to get the temperature (and other value) readings, I have been leaving my FTDI cable connect...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

1) Looks like the text on the temperature sensors is "AL8J" on both versions of the board that I have. Does that match, or am I looking at the wrong part? Looking at mine, it looks more like AL B J although there is at least one where it looks more like an 8 than a B. You're right, it's ALBJ on all...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Hello, sorry to be so late with this; Thanksgiving and family visiting and all. Also, Tcepsa, so what is the text on your temp sensors?... They are the 3 pin little black things right above the negitive battery terminal. 1) Looks like the text on the temperature sensors is "AL8J" on both versions of...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

You know, there is a very small possibility that it is the wrong sensor. I used a different one in the beginning that started at 400mv and had a 15mV per deg C (from memory could be wrong). Can you look carefully with a magnifier and a flashlight to see if the text on both temperature sensors match...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

You're right; I uploaded the wrong file. I've replaced it with what should be the correct one, though it sounds like you got the information you wanted already :)

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Yay blue flashing! Also, I think that the fast blue no-flash indicating no SD card is sufficiently different as to be not a problem (and it only shows up after the initial start-up light show, right? Or would it also do it if you pulled out the card in the middle of a charge? (I'm a little reluctant...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Okay, playing around with the 0520 version and it seems to be working well for me. I know that there's been a lot of discussion about the flashing while waiting to charge; my 2 cents is that flashing blue would be better than flashing red (which makes me think that either there's a problem or it is...

Re: Temperature Limits

I think that's a great feature! I was running into this pretty frequently in my house over the summer--now that things are cooling down on this side of the planet it hasn't been an issue, but that's only a temporary solution. I like yours better ^_^

Re: Suggestions/Observation/Bug Reporting

For something to stretch out the clips, folks could probably get a dowel from their local hardware store that's slightly larger than the diameter of a battery, saw it off to the same length as a battery, and push it in. Probably would be best to go with oak; I'm not sure how well pine would hold up ...
