Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

I should make it more clear on my website to use 3.3V only. Also if you are going to monitor it live, you should really have the charger running off a powered USB hub that the FDTI cable is also connected to. This will avoid GND loop issues. On my website In the battery charger section under updatin...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Hey Mark, Is there a way you could do some hysteresis on the temperature sensors. Like for example, maybe it has to get a reading up or down from the current reading two times in a row before it changes and then one it changes, samething, it has to get a differnt temp two times in a row before it ch...

Re: Real Time Clock

I am adding the RTC crystal for the LCD version right now (part of the extra cost), but not the battery backup. I wonder if we could do a super-cap for the RTC instead of a battery? I will keep it in mind.

Re: Expansion Ports

I2C would be easy enough. There will probably be extra pins available on the micro as well if we wanted. That being said even if it was just I2C we could probably add any thing we would ever want... even more pins. : )

Re: Independent Charging Channels

I thought one of the advantages of the 2 cell charger was each cell was charged separately. Yes they are charged independently even though they share the same charging circuit. In chargers where they are charged in pairs the cells are electrically connected such that it is impossible to charge one ...

Re: Feature idea: Quality value based on Cell test

We could have the quality value be a three digit number or something like that. So a cell might get assigned a number something like 746. 7 for capacity, 4 for internal resistance, and 6 for estimate of overall health... or something like that. That way in a glance you could get an idea of a cells o...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

You know, there is a very small possibility that it is the wrong sensor. I used a different one in the beginning that started at 400mv and had a 15mV per deg C (from memory could be wrong). Can you look carefully with a magnifier and a flashlight to see if the text on both temperature sensors match ...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Blue flashing sounds good to me. And maybe we should change No SD to alternate flashing blue and yellow or something. As far as negative temperature, I am Really curiose about what is going on there? Maybe we could add a section to the light show where it saves temp and V readings every minute or so...

Re: Suggestions/Observation/Bug Reporting

I am testing out 0520 and was wondering if a forced charge for cells that come up bad on all settings not just on charge could be done? For example if it has already come up purple, the cell wasn't removed and yet the same button press option was selected it just goes for it? That being said I still...
