Re: Termination Methods

This is probably best answered by looking at the voltage graph for an Eneloop under charge: http://www.ultrasmartcharger.com/images/EneloopCharge1.png Negative Delta Voltage (-dV) termination is pretty much as you've worked out. The charger is continuously looking for the voltage peak and then compa...

Latest Firmware Version

This latest version is now pretty much feature complete - I'm not planning to add in any more major improvements at this stage. Please view the following post for a quick guide on how to flash the charger with this firmware: http://www.ultrasmartcharger.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32 Please read ...

Re: Initial overnight tests

I've got high hopes for the results that we'll get with the inflection termination method - from all of the charging graphs that I've seen, it should work reliably even on cells that don't show a voltage drop and also at low charging rates. I suspect that the reason why we haven't seen it being used...

Re: Eneloop Charge Graph

Yep - hopefully it works as I expect. Being able to measure both voltage and current with the 18 bit ADC should give this charger a huge advantage over all of the other chargers! I've also got an iCharger 206B - it's clear from looking at the graphs that it produces that it's only got a 10 bit ADC o...

Re: Initial overnight tests

Looks like both batteries terminated on maximum temperature which isn't ideal - that can be because the cells have gone high impedance which creates more heat. The first cell terminated after only 28 minutes, so it would be nowhere near a full charge if it started flat, and it looks like it was pret...

Re: Initial overnight tests

All, In my current test setup, with an Energizer in position 1 and a Duracell in position 2 (SD card insertion side) I did get it to run overnight in 'cycle' mode. I tried one more time to get the serial output to show up correctly after our '8MHz vs. 16 MHz' discussion, and somehow it worked. It s...

Eneloop Charge Graph

I've just completed charging a couple of Eneloops with my latest code. I've now included a pause every 5 seconds to check the cell voltage without current being applied. Paul is correct in that it does give a better signal. The loaded voltage is now noisier because the voltage drops a bit during the...
