Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

I've had some further thoughts about the EEPROM: Although it might be possible to use the flash memory in the controller as a substitute, it's by no means guaranteed to work and will definitely take time to work out either way. I think it would definitely be a lot quicker to add an external EEPROM ...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

With regard to time frames, I'm assuming that you're meaning the end of the calendar year that you want to get everything shipped out by? To be honest, I really can't see that happening with option 4. Even if you were to stick to the current LCD design, I think we'd be pushing it to do it by the en...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

As far as chips go, based on the comments that have been rolling in from the latest kickstarter update, looks like it is going to be the ARM. This will also still keep it fully Arduino compatible for the few people that it is really important to.

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

No worries. It's really easy to make the change from blue/red to black/red, so I'll do it for the next version. I really wish others would comment on this. If it was just me I actually really like the 0519 version. I think it looks pretty sweet. Again, I am just worried about confusion and would li...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Yes! Sorry, how rude of me not to respond. I appreciated all that you said and am taking it in to consideration as I have been think about the new design. Tomorrow I would like to start laying out the new board so I have to decide soon. As far as the lights, I still say drop the blue. I feel bad. I ...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

I had a thought, for those that just want to upgrade the firmware, I wonder if we could have a folder they download that contains AVRDude, a hex of the latest firmware and a modified script like the one you gave me, that promts for the "COM" port to use and then flashes the charger. I also...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

I wonder what others think about this? Apparently not much! : ) My wife saw the new white charger during charging and she was like "what is up with the blue flashing?" she thinks the blue/red flashing is too much. Again, I think you should go back to just flashing Red. I like that the red...

Sony Cyber-shot Cells

markr6 over on the CandlePowerForums was nice enough to send me a set of Sony Cyber-shot cells that he came upon while going through his old camera bag. Here is a link to the post he made when he found them: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?372061-Oldschool-Sony-CyberShot-batteries...

Re: Discussion of Mark's firmware

Okay, after playing with 0.516 for a few day's I think you should go back to just the red blinking like in the beginning. I think the number of people that will get the flashing confused with the speed of pulsed current will be less than those that get confused with all the colors flashing before th...

Re: Suggestions/Observation/Bug Reporting

Okay, I grabbed a charger with a case and one without. Did a test on both and there are flying cells either way. However you are right, you can somewhat leverage the battery out on the charger with a case especially on the SD card side. I wish they would loosen up with use, but not really. I did ben...
