How to revive dead cells

Post by evilangel » Fri Aug 07, 2015 10:12 pm

I began to play with my USC several days ago. It's pretty good for simple tasks like charge or discharge. But my main aim try to revive some almost dead cells. I tried to do it in Revive mode (Charge mode + medium press) and Charging without internal checks (Charge + long press). It doesn't work for me, after several seconds purple light appears and charging stops.

But this cells isn't completely dead, I can charge it with Maha C-9000 or my old dummy charger.

Could anyone explain how this modes works? And how to handle with this sort of cells?

It's likely that the cells have high internal resistance - you can check the log file on the SD card to be sure.

If you press the button again without removing the cells first (short press should be fine) it should bypass the high resistance check and start charging anyway.

How much resistance is 'too much' for the charger?

The default setting is 300 milliOhms which is set to try to reject alkaline cells.

You can adjust this value either up or down depending on your own preference however.
