Expansion Ports

For things that are left out of the charger for whatever reason (cost/too difficult to implement intially, etc) it would be nice to have connectors that would allow the use of external circuitry. An I2C interface would probably be sufficient for most purposes.

I2C would be easy enough. There will probably be extra pins available on the micro as well if we wanted. That being said even if it was just I2C we could probably add any thing we would ever want... even more pins. : )
